Vision & Values

At Al-Hikmah we empower our students to achieve both spiritual and academic

excellence through aspiration and faith.

We recognise the multi-cultural, multi faith and ever-changing nature of the United
Kingdom, and therefore those we serve. We also understand the vital role we have
in ensuring that groups or individuals within our school are not subjected to
intimidation or radicalisation by those wishing to unduly, or illegally, influence them.
We aim to achieve this by threading our core values of FAITH through everything we
do at Al-Hikmah.

FOCUS
We are inspirational, constantly striving for success in this world and in the
Hereafter.

ATTITUDE
Display a positive mindset and attitude at all times.

INDEPENDENCE
Boost mental and physical health, build confidence and self-esteem and allows us to
navigate challenges, pursue our own interests and pursue a fulfilling life.

TOLERANCE
We treat everyone in the best way that they deserve, with consideration and
compassion.

HONESTY
We have the courage and grounded morals to be true to ourselves and others alike

Illuminating Hearts & Enlightening Minds

At Al Hikmah Girls School, our mission is to nurture students who embody strong moral character, excel academically and spiritually, and contribute positively to society. Guided by the ethos of FAITH—Focus, Achievement/Attitude, Integrity/Independence, Tolerance, and Honesty—we align our Islamic faith and National Curriculum to deliver a holistic education. This approach reflects our commitment to safeguarding our students and preparing them for personal, social, and professional success.

Our values are also deeply connected to British Values—democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. These principles are embedded across our curriculum and school ethos to help students grow into responsible and engaged members of society.

  • Navigate challenges with resilience and a sense of purpose.

Holistic Curriculum

We believe education is power and strive to prepare students for life beyond school by delivering a dual curriculum:

  1. National Curriculum: Core subjects ensure academic rigor, with emphasis on STEM, literacy, and creative arts, enabling students to excel in professional settings.

  2. Islamic Curriculum: Students are equipped with Quranic and Islamic knowledge to live as confident Muslims who contribute positively to society.

  3. Life Skills Development: Lessons in RSE, PSHE, and ICT focus on digital literacy, communication skills, and preparing students for real-world challenges.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

We value student, parent, and staff feedback to refine our approach continually. Surveys, forums, and feedback mechanisms ensure our curriculum and values remain relevant and impactful.

This document demonstrates how our ethos of FAITH underpins every aspect of our school life, contributing to a nurturing and dynamic educational environment.
